Olympic, or standard distance, triathlon is as the name suggests – the race format used for the individual events at the Olympic Games Triathlon.  At double the distance of a sprint triathlon, an Olympic/Standard triathlon is the perfect step up for any amateur triathlete looking for a challenge. For the Romanian triathletes this race will be National Championship!

• Categories: Elite, U23, Para, Age Group (20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60+)

• Distances:

SWIM: 1500 m

BIKE: 2 laps – 19,8 km/lap

RUN: 4 laps – 2,5 km/lap

T1 – T2 link – 2,2 km

• Location T1 and START: Bezid Lake

• Location T2 and Finish: Sângeorgiu de Pădure area, str. Morii & str. Nicolae Bălcescu

Bezid Lake – swim venue + T1

Bezid Lake is an artificial lake in Romania, Transylvania, Mureş county, 35 km from Târgu Mureș. Instead of the lake was the village of Bezid which was flooded by water, stood at the site of the lake, and today only a few ruined buildings remained in the village.

Sângeorgiu de Pădure – T2 and FINISH

English: Saint George on the Heath, Hungarian: Erdőszentgyörgy, German: Sankt Georgen auf der Heide is a town in Mureș County at 32 km from Târgu Mureș. The grave of Claudia Rhedey, grandmother of Queen Mary of England, is placed in the crypt of the Reformed church which was renovated in 1936 from donation of Queen Mary of England, great-granddaughter of count Rhedey and grandmother of Queen Elisabeth II of Great Britain and British royal family.
