The team of the Transylvania Triathlon Festival strives each year to surprise its visitors with some new features. This year, we have decided to organize a long-distance swimming competition as an additional event to our race series, making use of the excellent conditions of Lake Bezid. The competition, set for July 6, will be for both children and adults and will be held in collaboration with the Orca Sports Club of Cluj-Napoca.

Categories:

• Children – girls and boys – Age groups: 9-10 years / 11-12 years / 13-14 years / 15-16 years / 17-18 years
• Sprint distance – women and men – Age groups: 15-16 years / 17-18 years / 19-29 years / 30-39 years / 40-49 years / 50-59 years / 60+
• Long distance – women and men – Age groups: 19-29 years / 30-39 years / 40-49 years / 50-59 years / 60+

Distances:

• Children – 400 m (200 m <-> 200 m)
• Sprint distance – 1500 m (1 lap)
• Long distance – 4500 m (3 laps)

Awards:

The first three places in each distance and age group category for both women and men will be awarded. The awards ceremony will take place in the courtyard of the Rhédey Castle on the afternoon of the competition day.

General Information:

1. Children and youth under 18 years of age registering for the sprint distance must be members of a swimming club.

2. The water temperature of the lake in July is around 24-25 degrees Celsius, so wetsuits will probably not be needed.

3. Swimming caps will be provided by the organizing team for participants in the sprint and long distances and must be worn during the competition.
